This painting is part of a series that was completed for my solo show, in 2021, celebrating the power and the beauty of the surrounding here on the East Coast of Vancouver Island. The inspiration for the painting was the idea of transition and eternity of this place as opposed to the relatively fleeting time of the pandemic. The series was my reminder to myself that the inconveniences and limitations we were experiencing were impermanent in a similar way that the colour, light and movement of the scene were changing minute by minute, something that had existed for millennia.
