Jury Item # 2 - As a colourist, my work tells stories through colour, which I have termed " colour hieroglyphics". In this regard, every element in nature has its own story to tell. I often place a colour in an unlikely place on the canvas to allow the colour to attract the viewer's attention and tell its own story.

Robin Timms, AFCA

Robin uses the phrase "colour hieroglyphics" to describe her incorporation of symbols, shapes, forms and marks to create her own personal language and colour stories on canvas.
Her work explores the interplay and interaction of colour in a contemporary context.
"Colour is everything and everyone reacts to colour differently. My work is intended to open a conversation with the viewer about the interactions and interplay of colour by creating colour stories in a contemporary context."
