About the Artwork

Jurying Item # 1 : This painting tells the story about experiencing a rare natural phenomenon , a " supermoon" event. It felt as if the long legged evergreens where I live were dancing with the moon in celebration . MJ Eckhart said , " Truly, it is in the darkness that one finds the light, so when we are in sorrow, then this light is nearest to all of us."

Robin Timms, AFCA

Pender Island, British Columbia

Robin uses the phrase "colour hieroglyphics" to describe her incorporation of symbols, shapes, forms and marks to create her own personal language and colour stories on canvas.
Her work explores the interplay and interaction of colour in a contemporary context.

"Colour is everything and everyone reacts to colour differently. My work is intended to open a conversation with the viewer about the interactions and interplay of colour by creating colour stories in a contemporary context."
