This piece is an extensive exploration of the impact of nature on our physical and emotional experiences of wild terrain. I used local foliage for initial mark making while also utilizing new techniques to carve the surface experience of this painting. Allowing sharp edged shapes created with multiple layers of paint and line work makes this piece simple yet complex.

I just love the space that creating abstract art makes for the imagination, for both artist & viewer. I work in a series, several paintings at once, which allows me to utilize my creative energy to its maximum, moving from one painting to the next.
