About the Artwork

This light, bright painting is one in a series of work called Sourced that was inspired by my response to the space, colours, textures and moods of Okanagan Lakeside and surrounding terrain. My process of working is very intuitive where various materials are selected and allowed to interact on the canvas: acrylic paints & inks, iridescent paint, micaceous iron oxide, mineral paint, charcoal, and graphite.

I just love the space that creating abstract art makes for the imagination, for both artist & viewer. I work in a series, several paintings at once, which allows me to utilize my creative energy to its maximum, moving from one painting to the next.
