Impetus For Change
Change is difficult but necessary and is a natural part of life, however adamant we may be with resistance. My recent work explores the concept of change, by also embracing a change in the approach to my work. Accepting the idea of change means opening up to what is, acknowledging resistance and celebrating the new irregardless.
This piece is the first painting in this series where I let go of controlling every design element in place for allowing the natural effect of paint to show through without tidying things up. The mess can feel uncomfortable, frightening, and stir insecurity, however it is necessary for the new to arrive. My goal is to convey both construction and destruction simultaneously and still find the beauty in this cycle.
Impetus For Change holds parts of my past style and this new approach I am exploring, destruction and construction.
