About the Artwork
For me, canoes spark daydreams of peaceful adventure. I was drawn to photograph and paint this lakeside scene as I loved how the canoe was covered in nature’s confetti.

Monique has been a plein-air painter since she was 4 years old which began at her grandparents summer cabin in the Okanagan in response to wild and wooly summer storms. She loves to paint in the changing moods of the outdoors as well as working in her studio.
