My drysuit dive through Silfra - one of the few places on earth where you can swim between two drifting tectonic plates - the North American and Eurasian plates. The water, precipitated in the era of the Vikings, is glacial melt over a thousand years old, filtered through volcanic rock to create the clearest water in the world, with visibility reaching up to 100 metres.
Floating weightlessly through narrow rocky corridors - suspended between continents, layered in thick drysuits and heavy weights against the near-freezing waters - was both surreal and deeply humbling. Immersed in a space where the earth itself is pulling apart, I was struck by the tension, the vulnerability, and yet, the unseen strength that upheld me.
Life often feels like standing in those deep trenches - weighted, submerged, caught between forces beyond ourselves - yet still carried by something greater. Even in the deepest cracks, even where the earth splits, hope is not extinguished - I have witnessed it.

My work is drawn to the places where light feels hidden – places marked by ache, quiet questions, or things unsaid. I tend to linger there, not out of despair, but because I believe beauty and hope can penetrate the dark and change everything.
"It only takes a single photon of light to pierce utter darkness – just one. In a world that can seem to grow dimmer, I paint to reveal, not manufacture, that quiet, unrelenting presence of light – a real hope grounded in truth."
