Shortly after I moved to Vancouver, I found myself drawn to this back alley.
Old and modern buildings stand side by side. The ground is dark and cluttered, while only a narrow piece of sky can be seen above. Beyond it, a small patch of blue and a glimpse of modern Vancouver appear in the distance.
At the time, the scene felt strangely similar to my own state of mind.
I had just left a familiar place behind and arrived in a new city, not knowing what would happen next. Uncertainty and hesitation lay beneath my feet, and the future still felt distant and unclear. Yet, in that small glimpse of blue sky, I felt a quiet sense of hope, as if something new was about to begin.
The cat pauses and looks back.
It has not completely let go of the past, nor does it know where it is going next.
Still, it is about to move forward.
It does not yet know what it will become.
Its story has only just begun.
