This painting inspires togetherness and depicts the human condition in relationship to nature. It tells a new story based on an imaginary, inclusive, and hopeful world. I reinvent the figure in diverse ways, varying their degree of abstraction, diminishing barriers between them, and equalizing them to their essential shared humanity. I have removed barriers between figures and their environment, balancing internal and external experiences as if the human body were porous. Internally, the figures are filled with colour and value and may contain metaphorical rock strata, plant life, water or sky.
I like to think of humans as vessels of knowledge, belief, life force, and compassionate connection. Genuine, supportive relationships are what matter to me most. I am interested in the goodwill that holds people together in the context of time and place. It is my way of searching for meaning in my connection to self, others, and our precious planet.
Experimentation and intuition guide me, source material is joined together, and paintings are built with fine layers of mixed water-media. I use symbolic, expressive colour, horizontality, and connecting processes like paste, blend, merge and share. This painting aims to raise questions and invite viewer completion.

Paintings focus on genuine, supportive relationships and the goodwill that holds people together. They combine real experienced moments and sensations with the imaginary, reframing life's journey to be hopeful and inclusive. Permeable abstracted figures merge with each other and their distinct environment, becoming a metaphor for the wider human condition.
