About the Artwork

At sunrise, Perry Lagoon sings with harmony. The first light pours across sandstone and sea, casting dark shadows that heighten the brilliance of the day’s beginning. In this balance of shadow and glow, I feel rhythms of stillness and renewal. To wake here means I am camping with family, free from daily demands, open to the wonder of nature’s unfolding. In this quiet moment, I too find myself in harmony.

Jeanne Erickson

Galiano Island, British Columbia

My work celebrates the beauty of Galiano Island and the rhythms of wild joy that connect everything in and around this little island. Recently I have been exploring the night sky, playing with the shapes of light and dark cast by the light of the moon.

""When painting our long narrow island I am tuned into the rhythms of open sky and ocean that weave through the tapestry of rock and forest connecting us all""
