After the devastating fire of July 2024, when a third of the town of Jasper was wiped out and the surrounding forests burned, Jasper is in recovery. Only a year later it was so inspiring to see the noteworthy amount of work done in the town, and the surrounding forests are as spectacular as ever. I was totally inspired by the resilience of nature. In September the gorgeous undergrowth, thick grasses which had been lush and green, were starting to dry and turn yellow. The colour of the forest, though not the deep green of the past was so inspiring, I just had to paint.
