About the Artwork

Neilson Lake Wetland Preservation Project is located 50 km north of Prince George. There is no trail around it but I have been walking there doing before it was given its designation and signage. Now that it has, I feel like an intruder to the area so I leave it to the many species that call it home. To draw attention to the area by my own footsteps is just wrong. I live in the north and water takes many forms that have always interested me. This day the lake was dead still, looking like the the forest and sky.

Jeanette Orydzuk

Prince George, British Columbia

Jeanette uses her art to understand who she is and her place in the world. She works mostly from memory and imagination to acheive the feeling tone of an image rather than a realistic one.

"I allow myself to be versatile with media and styles because it helps me feel alive while creating and opens me up to new ideas for more work."
