About the Artwork
The subjectif this plein air painting is the headwall of the Fernie Alpine Resort. The cool shadows are clearly visible as the enormous rock face protrudes from the snow of the headwall. The snow covered ski runs cut down and through the coniferous forest below the headwall and into the Lizard Bowl on the left and the Cedar Bowl on the right. Fernie Alpine Resort is known for it's five 'bowls' of terrain and it's legendary powder.
