I painted this from imagination. It is an image that appeared in my mind at the end of a meditation session. I later realized that it had been inspired by Kafka's "First Sorrow", which I had read a few months earlier. It shows an artist doing what an artist does: working towards perfection at a task that is difficult, risky, and makes absoloutely no sense.

""I am fascinated by the ability of certain paintings to create a lasting image in the mind of the viewer. The image is not spelled out but is merely suggested and it remains intact in the viewer’s mind for decades. This is what I hope to accomplish with my paintings.""
