Those Were the Days
In the 1970’s my husband and I taught school in a remote fishing community off the west coast of Vancouver Island.
From a series of photos I took at that time, I painted this depiction of a trawler arriving at a local fish camp. Then salmon were very plentiful and a small time fisherman made a good living.
I believe I have depicted a simpler life where one could make a living as one’s ancestors had done for generations, with pride and purpose.
