Alcor loading Saskatchewan wheat in the Port of Vancouver

In this mixed-media watercolor painting, I have painted the bulk carrier Alcor loading wheat in the Port of Vancouver.

For my painting I used oil pastel to fill in and lightly sketch most areas of the painting. This provides a resist to the watercolour paint and gives a textured effect to the painting. I also used masking fluid in a couple of places and white gouache on the ship hull.
