About the Artwork
The Syilx Okanagan nation created many pictographs as they went about their daily life. This important record can still be found throughout the Okanagan, and is a reminder of their important relationship to the land.
This impressive pictograph is located in the Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park. Many years ago I photographed a number of pictographs left by the Syilx Okanagan nation and this painting is based upon one of my photographs taken within the park.
