About the Artwork
This plein air painting originates from a two-month-long painting adventure in Ecuador during the summer of 2022. It portrays an 18th-century Spanish Mission, complete with its outbuildings and humble church. These centers held immense importance as gathering spots on the outskirts of the empire, serving as crucial trading outposts and centers of education.
