In this painting, I sought to capture the essence of my past journey through the Kootenays region in British Columbia. Many valleys and mountainsides bear the scars of recent forest fires, which are becoming increasingly frequent.
Despite the destructive force carried by the fires, there is always a renewal of life. This is particularly evident along the river, which brings nourishment and hope to the scarred land.
