About the Artwork

mySon is a painting of my son reading the tour map brochure one winter day travelling on the Aquabus when visiting Granville Island. Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences. My son is autistic. Our lives have become intertwined and entangled with many. Love, support and empathy have always been there. Bullying, terror, and ridicule have sometimes followed.
