In a lifetime, we set out, we meander, we dash toward something, turn away, plod, go astray. Inevitably we feel lost, only to discover this convoluted path we’ve taken is the essential route to finding home. The tangled pathways etched into this painting, both the bold and faded lines, speak to me of the roads we take and the roads not taken on this journey that so often has a destination different from the one we thought we were seeking. It captures the darkness and the light of a pilgrimage fully lived.
