About the Artwork

This painting is part of my Trees series, in which I use trees as both recognizable forms and symbolic figures. The trees are rendered in vivid purple, with bright colours emerging between and around the branches, creating a sense of inner energy and light. Simplified mountain forms recede into the background, while layered patterns and colour fields create an imagined landscape rather than a literal representation of a place.

I like to create pictures. I love the smell of oil paint; the texture and tension of the canvas; the resistance and softness of the brush; and the color and consistency of the oils. For me, the process of creating an artwork is like a journey to a distant country.

"My artistic vision allows me to express what can’t be articulated with words. The viewer is welcome to connect with my reality, to dive into my world, and to connect with my soul through the emotional context of each artwork."
