Caron Smith is a Victoria, BC artist. She paints plein air with The AlFrecoes most Fridays, usually with pastels on pastelmat. These paintings are often used as inspiration for larger, more detailed oils on canvas. She also does life drawings, with the same technique.
Caron's love of colour and movement is integral to her work. She enjoys sweeping backgrounds with multiple colours. It has been a challenge over the last year to work with fewer colours and explore the impact of that!
Recently, Caron has begun painting on silk panels. These panels can be hung in doorways and windows to dramatically affect the mood in a room.
