Victoria Klassen

New Westminster, British Columbia

Victoria Klassen is an abstract painter whose work is rooted in the natural environment. She is inspired by tangled branches, the light coming through the trees, or a simple leaf. These elements are distilled into simple shapes that are incorporated into abstract compositions to communicate her emotional response to the environment. Her work alludes to the beauty and simplicity of forms and light found in nature. She works out of her studio in Vancouver, BC where she also attended Emily Carr College of Art & Design and the Langara Fine Arts program.
It is through abstraction that I can truly express my affinity with nature.
