Deborah Strong SFCA
Victoria, British Columbia
Fur or feathers, hooves or paws, from four-legged companions to elusive wild creatures, the animal world in all its wonder and variety fuels Deborah's creative passion. She has been making art since she could first hold a pencil and has built a reputation for lifelike coloured pencil drawings and lively paintings on silk.
A life-long resident of southwestern BC, Deborah holds a diploma in Fine Art from the University of the Fraser Valley and Senior Status (SFCA) with the Federation of Canadian Artists. After gradually migrating west, she now she calls Mayne Island home where she operates Yellow Bird Art Studio and volunteers as a director of the Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council.

I am driven by a deep love of the animal world and an undeniable impulse to make art. Images of creatures who cross my path come to life in my studio as expressions of wonder and appreciation.
