In August the Rocky Mountains are alive with warblers who choose these high elevation environments to nest, rear young, and prepare for their southward fall migration. Observing them I was intrigued by the way the colour of their plumage harmonizes with the environment. I observed this yellow-rumped warbler hunting for insects among weather-bleached driftwood logs on the shores of Malign Lake.
