About the Artwork

I was once an avid horseback rider, and some years ago while riding in a wooded area of the Fraser Valley I had the privilege of seeing two of these magnificent owls. That place has now been cleared for housing so this drawing is a tribute to those shadow-dwelling birds who lost their home to human development.
