About the Artwork

This piece is the third in a new series of coastal-inspired paintings, and explores the rustic, unrefined and sublime elements of the Pacific Northwest seashore. It's textured and layered, featuring abstracted ocean waves and the horizon in the distance, under the umbrella of an atmospheric sky. This painting reminds us that Nature is a force beyond our human control, and as an artist, I can only strive to capture moments of it, passing in time and perception. This piece is finished with a gloss varnish for UV protection, painted on the sides with a coordinating blue-green tone, and is dated/signed

Julia Di Sano

New Westminster, British Columbia

Julia Di Sano is a full-time contemporary artist based in New Westminster, BC, working from her home studio to create atmospheric, layered and textural abstracts and semi-abstracted landscapes inspired by British Columbia's sublime natural beauty. Her work is internationally recognized and collected.

"My aim is to capture brief moments in Nature's enduring history and translate them, along with the emotions they evoke within me, into paint on canvas. Sublime and somewhat veiled. Art allows us, as humans, to explore the mystery of the world around us and seek out tangible answers.""
