About the Artwork

This diptych was created to emphasize how bodies pressed into bedlinen tell a story of transversing the time of rest. Dividing the image into a diptych creases the tension between the sleepers, and the prints they have left on the canvas of the linens. In the particular painting, the pillows appear to float in time, as the sleepers leave their intimate space to travel beyond. It is obvious from the imprint that at some point in travel they approach being near - that imaginary near of sharing of the mind which is impossible. We may only come close but never share completely mind space.
