About the Artwork

Painted on location with a plein air group this past summer. I have just received new brand of oil paints and was amazed by their strength and vibrancy. Dark red door seemed a perfect focus of this rather monochromatic green park. As our historical landmarks are disappearing quickly I felt Iike capturing the sun bathed, water facing façade of this old lodge in Quallicum Beach waterfront park.
