The Main Library Building downtown Calgary, also known as the Central Library, is a fairly new addition to the east end of the downtown core to revitalize that area, which is known as East Village. The building is of a unique architectural design with elaborate ornamentation on the sides of the building. All sides of the building are curved surfaces which makes it difficult to paint when taking into account perspective properly. A unique feature of the building is that it was built over the public transit railway tracks, known as The LRT which stands for Light Rail Transit.
