I have always looked forward to the advent of Camus season at different parks in Victoria. Here at Uplands, I was attracted to the patterns created by the yellow mossy grass and the purple-blue flowers, so returned at the same time each day to paint them on location.

Painting from life has always fascinated me. I love seeing flower petals animated by gentle breezes or inhaling the deeply scented perfume of colourful iris and rose blooms, as they “pose” before me under dappled sunlight.
"My primary objective when painting on location, is to seize the drama - a specific group of flowers or landscape into a lively composition."
