Not For Sale
I tried to capture the light and feel of Peggy's Cove in August, the terrain, the sky and the picket fences.
This awesome motorcycle was parked with jacket and helmet, the owner somewhere around.
To create a rough texture, I used granulating watercolours and random underpainting poured onto the paper and blown around with a straw. The idea was to contrast the precise masked light and dark values of the foreground with the freeform and more constrained values of the background. The composition moves the eye from the bike into the image and up to the horizon.
