Inspired by recent photo of the flow of the Hubbard Glacier into the Pacific Ocean, "Ice Stream" is intended to remind us about the plasticity of these glaciers and that there is not an endless supply. They are shrinking daily. We rely on this limited source to feed our oceans and nurture all the creatures that live beneath and above the waves. The painting represents the melting of the glaciers, the remnants floating on the surface of the ocean which is serving as a mirrored image of the frightening decline.

I make art because this is how I speak to others, how I speak to myself. My marks are scratched on canvas and paper. Consider these marks an alternative language. The marking comes captures a moment in time, as the brush touches the paper, time is stilled.
"I am a joyful mark maker inspired by the light of Turner, and the brush strokes of Monet."
