Not For Sale
In this nonrepresentational piece Mara offers the viewer a vulnerable space. In an ocean of self-doubts, comparison, and shattered self-esteem each fragment of this piece represents the coming together with just being. Once again, the concept of self-worth is being dissected. This artwork brings many different responses to a one clashing point, where we break. But through the brake we rebuild into a different version of ourselves. The accentuation of texture almost makes this piece a palpable representation of that instant in time, focusing simply in the second where we are completely broken but we still have worth.
