Not For Sale
This is one of those works that has evolved over a considerable period, from the original reference material through a couple of other versions and now this one. In all of the versions, as in much of my other work, it’s the relation between the women that fascinates me. As the colours in the painting took on a jewel-like quality playing off of the golden headscarf, the title emerged and the focus of this version clarified. The edges of the canvas are painted in a continuation of the floral motif.
