About the Artwork

Since I was young girl, I've always enjoyed drawing and painting intuitively.
Many of my drawings and paintings have a short hair styles and for many years I never understood why.
At the age of 35, I found out I was adopted and have an identical twin sister living in Romania.
At the age of 5, a year later after I was adopted Gina came to Bucharest for a brief visit in my new home with my new parents.
Seeing photographs from her visit with me, we both had short hair styles.
Subconconnciously, I've been drawing and painting my sister

ASIZA

Vancouver, British Columbia

Since a young girl, Asiza has been drawing and painting the female form and never understood why.
At 35, Asiza's parents shared the family secret that she was adopted and has an identical twin sister.
Asiza realized her art was her way to stay connected with her twin.

""I was 35 years old before discovering I had a twin sister living half a world away. I paint to share our story of longing, reconnection, and compensating for lost time.""
