At the age of 35, I found out I had a identical twin sister named Gina that lived half a world away in Romania.
Gina had always known about my existence but was forced to keep it a secret from me.
Since the age of 5, I had been drawing and painting female figures— I now believe it was my way of subconsciously keeping the connection with my twin.
After our reconnection in August 2019, we spent an entire month catching up and never left each other’s side—walking hand in hand, doing twin things and talking about what could have been.
We realized how much we missed and needed each other and how united we are through love and suffering.

Asiza realized her art was her way to stay connected with her twin.
""I was 35 years old before discovering I had a twin sister living half a world away. I paint to share our story of longing, reconnection, and compensating for lost time.""
