About the Artwork
Early VW Beetles – 1968 and earlier – were prone to rusting. This 1967 Beetle is from a reference photo I took at the Ladner auto show a few years ago. The Beetle, once a darker blue, had faded to a light, dull blue-grey and had some rust. To make the painting more interesting, I changed/intensified its colour and added a lot more rust.
