“Purple Rain” references a “deep longing or desire that will likely not be met” due to life’s obstacles that always seem to get in the way. Deep down inside of us are desires we long for that we think will never be fulfilled. But just as rain washes away the dirt and the grime, so too can we wash away our negative inner critic, and allow our optimism to bubble up to the surface and provide us with flickers of hope that maybe just maybe, we will one day reach those hidden dreams we hold so dear.

My art is influenced by the small communities I have lived in over the years. My collage and abstract landscape paintings have multilayers of rich texture and bold colors that reference northern BC. I believe an artist can convey mood, feeling and emotions without using symbolism or realism.
