I loved this drive west of Nanton, as we traversed it often on our many trips south to Montana. I stopped one day at this location planning to do a small plein air. I got the sketch done but that was it however way to windy. I did a small piece in the study from the sketch and then decided I liked it so much I'd create this larger version with oil and cold wax. That particular summer the pasture lands in the area were so so green, it reminded me of Ireland. It's one of the most beautiful areas of Alberta.
