About the Artwork

Jurying Item #2. This is a common sight mid-mountain at the Chickpea Cafe on Whistler Mountain, BC, Canada. These birds are fearless and very smart. The painting captures the mid-afternoon light of a sunny day in January. The snow is granulated and hard-packed in different areas. I used masking fluid and at three different blue colours to capture the light on the snow. This is 100 percent transparent watercolour and the whites are the absence of paint.
