Most of my contact with my mother in the last 12 years of her life as she was slowly eroded by dementia focused on her hands, sitting by her bedside looking at them. I marvelled at their translucence and strength, the changes wrought by time and their terrible beauty and expressive power. This dog was one of her only comforts after sight and speech had failed, and holding her hand that last remaining connection. I promised to destroy her diaries, but collaged these meticulous pages in, providing hints but the whole that was there as obscured as she was herself.

"I strive to give permanent form to fleeting moments of grace. Favouring organic subjects, I enjoy exploring the idiosyncrasies that distinguish an individual. My devotion to studying the specific character of light and and its ability of light to transmute the quotidien into something remarkable remains constant throughout."
