Not For Sale
This painting was begun plein air outside my studio last winter. It was so cold I was forced to be decisive and found I had the groundwork done rather quickly. I finished the painting in my studio trying to keep that urgency in the finished piece.
I live on a rocky outcrop high over Okanagan Lake and no matter what the season I am constantly awed by the beauty of our Western Canadian landscape. I find it the most impressive in the winter when the foliage of summer has died back and the bare bones of the pines are silhouetted against the winter sky.
