About the Artwork

Black bears are often not black at all, and can range in colour from black, brown, cinnamon, blond, blue-grey, and even the creamy white of the Kermode black bear. This big sow from Northern Alberta almost looks like a grizzly, but she doesn't have the big hump or the little ears.

Sheila Van Delft

Langley, British Columbia

Sheila Van Delft is a visual artist who paints landscape and wildlife with sensitivity and thoughtfulness and hopes to bring a little of the wilds into the homes of her collectors. Her images include a wide variety of subjects such as mountains, forests, lakes, rivers, and BC birds and wildlife.

"I have been an artist since I was a child and can’t imagine my life without painting. My favourite subjects to paint are landscape and wildlife so it’s amazing to be able to paint what I see around me every day."
