Conveying the theme of recovery in a painting presented for me, the idea of something that requires effort, stamina and resolve. It was important to me that the viewer is able to draw a conclusion from what they see, in relation to the theme and that the image not be a literal interpretation. This painting portrays a distant goal with a sense of roadblocks, unexpected challenges and a high degree of energy required along the way. It is my intention that, when considering the theme, the viewer experience the “Journey” of Recovery.
