This Acrylic Painting was created by laying down a base layer of paint mixed with a gel medium and injecting colours into the base using veterinary syringes. Next, I used a palette knife to manipulate the paint and pull the coloured paint to the surface. I was forbidden to wear makeup as a youngster and was always fascinated with the strange makeup worn by the character, Morticia, on the television show, “The Munsters”. I didn’t like it, but I was fascinated by it. It’s odd that such a memory would inspire a painting, but, this is exactly how my Abstract Mind works.
