Low tide at Spanish Banks is cause for adventure. As the water recedes up to a kilometre into English Bay it makes for the incredible opportunity to walk out and touch the ships at anchor ! ....... well it certainly seems like it. The freighters awaiting entrance to the Port of Vancouver appear to be grounded and standing on their own defying gravity. This is a beautiful part of the country as can be seen by the mountains on the north shore of Burrard Inlet connecting up with Vancouvers' crown jewel Stanley Park by way of the Lions Gate Bridge.

"It's all about the light. With each successive painting I endeavour to capture the obvious and the subtle differences in it. How to interpret light has been an ongoing pursuit. I don't try to paint emotion or invoke some deeper meaning ....... I just try to get the light right!"
