I live in beautiful Lake Country BC, which could also be called ‘Wine Country’, and located not far from my home is the well-known Grey Monk Winery, whose vineyard was the inspiration for this painting. A palette knife was used to create most of this artwork, except for the grapes which were painted with a traditional paint brush. My goal was to try and describe the beauty of the warm light glowing through the grapevines and cause the viewer to feel like they were right there, in the midst of the vineyard, smelling the sweet fragrance of grapes surrounding them.
